Considerable brightening of the variable RY Tauri in 1983-1984.: spectroscopic and photometric observations.
Abstract
The present UBVJHK photometric and spectroscopic study of the T Tau star RY Tau from September, 1983 to April, 1984 noted that while the variable brightened considerably in V, from about 10.8 to 9.5 mag, its B-V, U-B colors remained steady. Strong night-to-night fluctuations in the H-alpha emission line profile were recorded, together with fast variability of the H-alpha equivalent width on the night of January 13, despite an invariant profile.
