Measurements of Ti 3+:Al 2O 3 as a lasing material
Abstract
The potential for compact, broadly tunable solid state lasers has generated renewed interest in ion-host combinations with vibronically broadened states. Primarily because of its large cross section for stimulated emission, Ti 3+:Al 2O 3 is investigated and the results of measurements relevant for lasing applications are give.
