Refractive characteristics of the atmosphere over continental regions
Abstract
The results of experimental studies on ultrashort wave refraction by the atmosphere over the Transbaikal region, Central Yakutia, and south-eastern Mongolia and on the time and space distribution of the refraction coefficient are presented. The changes of the refraction coefficient and of its vertical gradient values with the time of the day, the season, the height of the atmospheric layer, and the climatic features are statistically analyzed.
