An approximate method of solution for the inverse problem
Abstract
One approach to solving the inverse problem is to find and then use offshell T matrices in the inverse equation V= T + TGin0 itT. It is shown that near the energy shell the offshell T matrix may be approximated by an onshell T matrix at a common value of the momentum transfer q = ¦k  k″¦. At forward scattering angles, we fix the magnitude of q and k, while at back angles we fix the magnitude and direction of q. This method is illustrated graphically.
