The effect of higher dimensions on relativistic cosmology.

The general consequences for relativistic cosmology of the KaluzaKlein ansatz are studied. It is shown that the cosmological constant induced by the anisotropic compactification can be eliminated in cosmological models general enough to allow for vorticity.
