Synthesize and analyze microstrip lines
Abstract
The great number of design equations for microstrip lines makes it difficult to choose the right set. However, an easier approach for selecting the proper set can be based on the use of a reference standard for evaluating the best-known design equations. By analyzing the available microstrip models, it is possible to develop an improved hybrid set. This set provides the basis for a new calculator program. Attention is given to four equation sets which are in use by the vast majority of microstrip designers, a comparison of the various equation sets, and some details regarding the program for performing the required calculations.
