17/12 GHZ low noise receiver for UNISAT TV DBS satellite
Abstract
This paper presents the 17/12 GHz low noise receiver for the UK direct broadcast satellite (DBS). The receiver has an operating bandwidth of 400 MHz and noise figure of less than 6.0 dB, including passive input waveguide components. Nominal gain is 42.5 dB, gain flatness is 0.2 dB peak-to-peak, and the receiver has the added advantage of dual redundancy within a single chassis. Measurements on an engineering model of the receiver are presented.
