The new M-124 filtering ozonometer
Abstract
A compact filtering ozonometer has been developed for meteorological applications. The device is designed to measure the absorption of ultraviolet light by ozone in the spectral band 280-330 nm. The measurement apparatus consists of a reflector; a light filter; a photodetector; and a passive thermostat. The thermostat is used to detect the influence of the surrounding medium on the spectral characteristics of the light filter. Preliminary tests of the system indicate an average measuring error of + or - 8 percent. The arrangement of electronic components in the device is illustrated in a line drawing.
