Supersonic nonisobaric gas jets
Abstract
The theory and methods of investigation of supersonic nonisobaric gas jets are examined, with allowance made for the effect of viscosity phenomena, nonequilibrium physicochemical processes, and multiphase nature of the flow. A classification of supersonic nonisobaric jet flows is proposed, and the shock wave structure of jets is analyzed for various flow conditions. Particular attention is given to jets issuing into a vacuum, an important factor in the structure of underexpanded jets. Results of analytical and experimental investigations are presented.
