Data transmission over nonstationary communication channels
Abstract
This textbook treats aspects of the design of data transmission systems with adaptive processing on the receiving side. Particular attention is given to methods for the description of a nonstationary communication channel at different levels of representation by time series; the development of piecewise-stationary models; and the rapid estimation, prediction, and classification of channel states. Also considered are methods for the development and decoding of composite codes, adaptive synchronization algorithms, and the recording of code symbols and the decoding of redundancy codes.
