Nonlinear dynamics of transcritical flows; Proceedings of the International Colloquium, Bonn, West Germany, March 26, 1984
Abstract
Problems fundamental to the successful modeling of the dynamics of nonlinear systems such as transcritical flows are discussed. Of particular interest are the formation of nonlinear three-dimensional structures, the physical processes ocurring during a transition to turbulence and the appearance of chaotic solutions. Attention is given to self-organization in physical systems, the structural stability of three-dimensional vortex patterns, modeling dissipative and conservative systems, the formation of nonlinear structures near the laminar-turbulent transition and the numerical simulation of cumulus cloud convection (meteorology).
