Substitutional solid solutions of bismuth-containing lanthanide dititanates, Ln2- xBi xTi 2O 7
Abstract
The formation of solid solutions Ln2- xBi xTi 2O 7, where Ln = La to Lu and Y, except Ce, Pm, and Eu, has been studied by Raman spectroscopy and to a lesser extent by X-ray diffraction. It has been established that the solubility of bismuth increases with decreasing ionic radius of the lanthanide element. No evidence was experimentally found in this work for the existence of Bi 2Ti 2O 7.
