Neutral stability of laminar boundary layers along the concave wall
Abstract
Neutral stability curves are calculated for the Goertler model of parallel flow and for the Smith model of nonparallel flow. The results are then compared with the results of a stability experiment similar to that of Bipps (1972) in the low wavenumber region. It is found that the parallel flow assumption is controversial in the low wavenumber region and that the experimental neutral stable line is close to that of the Smith model.
