Accounting for phase in photoelectric and photographic observations of planets
Abstract
The correction for defective illumination in photoelectric and photographic observations of planets is examined. Attention is given to meridian observations with a multislit micrometer, photographic meridian and position observations, and the effects of chromatic refraction. Differential observations of Mars carried out during February-May 1982 with a photographic vertical circle are considered as an example.
