Homogeneity analysis for satellite communication systems
Abstract
The requirement of communication satellite system homogeneity is defined, and it is noted that an achievement of maximum system homogeneity is essential for the efficient use of the geostationary satellite orbit by communication satellites. Expressions are then obtained which define the relation that must exist between the main power parameters of two communication satellite systems if they are to meet the homogeneity requirement. It is shown that the requirement of homogeneity can be met for systems with different parameters, in particular those with different service areas and different earth station antennas. A relation between the generalized parameters of homogeneous systems is established.
