A model of the plasma wake generated by a large object
Abstract
A theoretical model is developed to determine the structure of the wake behind a large object moving with mesosonic speeds through a rarefied plasma. The model takes account of the electric field that develops as a result of separation between electrons and ions. Calculated and experimental results are in good agreement.
