Planar millimeter-wave diode mixer
Abstract
A new mixer operating in the 90-110 GHz band, is reported. The design utilizes a custom-built, planar, GaAs Schottky-barrier diode soldered directly into a suspended-substrate stripline circuit without the use of bonding leads. This configuration exhibits low parasitics and should not be subject to the frequency limitations of conventional beam-lead designs.
