Propagation characteristics of rectangular corrugated waveguides
Abstract
Theoretical and experimental results are presented concerning the propagation characteristics of a rectangular waveguide with transverse corrugations on all four walls. It is shown that the propagation phase constant can be determined by imposing boundary conditions at the corrugated walls involving a single standing wave in the broad-wall slots and a single evanescent wave in the side-wall slots. The computed results, in good agreement with experimental results over the 8-12 GHz range, are shown to satisfy the impedance compatibility relation.
