Intermodulation owing to quantisation of two-carrier-level SCPC system
Abstract
A general analysis for the prediction of the output spectrum resulting from the quantization of a two-carrier-level single-channel-per-carrier system is presented. The output of the quantization staircase is represented by the sum of the input plus a sawtooth. By expanding the sawtooth as in infinite Fourier series, closed-form expressions in terms of the Zeta function are obtained for the quantized output carrier and the resulting intermodulation products. The special case of a large carrier level and a small carrier level is considered.
