The design of high-performance analog circuits on digital CMOS chips
Abstract
Theoretical and practical aspects of the design of analog circuits for inclusion on digital-system CMOS chips are discussed in a review of available technology and illustrated with diagrams and graphs. The characteristics of MOS transistors and of compatible resistor and capacitor realizations are examined; basic analog-circuit techniques such as optimum matching, amplification, switching, sample-and-hold, switched-capacitor integration, comparison, and voltage and current references are surveyed and demonstrated; and the problems presented by the noisy environment on a digital chip are considered.
