Neutral-atom recombination lasers in CO2 laser-vaporized target material
Abstract
Neutral-atom recombination in lasers in the vaporized plasmas of 28 different elements are reported. The results, which are consistent with the predictions of a simple model of a plasma-recombination laser, demonstrate the wide applicability of CO2 laser-produced plasmas as sources for laser excitation.
