Half watt average power at 25 kHz from fourth harmonic of Nd:YAG
Abstract
A half watt of 266 nm radiation has been generated at a pulse rate of 25 kHz by using KD(asterisk)P and KTP crystals to frequency-quadruple a CW-pumped, acoustooptic Q-switched Nd:YAG laser. The experimental arrangement is described and the results are discussed. Possible causes of the observed decrease in pulse energy and conversion efficiency at pulse rates above 25 kHz are considered.
