Domino-type millimeter-wave systems
Abstract
A new concept is described which facilitates assembling millimeter-wave components without connectors and flanges to form a system. The new approach based on a modified H-guide enables one to interconnect components embedded in foam dielectric by simply placing them in a row close to each other like domino pieces. A description of the concept, of the modified H-guide, of fields and waves at a junction of components, a discussion of component design and a comparative technology assessment are presented.
