Network synchronization
Abstract
The design of synchronization networks (SNs) for communications, navigation, data-acquisition, supercomputer-assembly, control and command, and phased-antenna-array applications is examined in a tutorial review of recent theoretical investigations. Topics examined include the fundamentals of plesiochronous and synchronous SNs (PSNs and SSNs); mathematical models of clocks, PSNs, and SSNs with and without delay compensation; generalized and linearized SN models; and SN performance measures and stability.
