Influence of free-stream turbulence on heat transfer at the rear surface of a cylinder - Effects of high frequency turbulence
Abstract
The effects of free stream turbulence levels on the heat transfer from a cylinder in cross flow were measured. It was found that the rear stagnation point heat transfer is extremely sensitive to changes in the free stream turbulence level, the deformation of the separated shear layer and changes in mean flow velocity in the dead water region.
