The use of sudden frequency deviations observed during solar flares to study the propagation modes of short-wave propagation modes
Abstract
It is demonstrated that the analysis of sudden frequency deviations observed during short solar flares makes it possible to expand the capabilities of the Doppler method and to determine the amplitude-frequency characteristics of oblique-sounding short-wave propagation modes without goniometer measurements. The frequency shift of the F2 mode is found to exceed the shift of the E mode by an order of magnitude or more; the frequency shifts of both modes increase with increasing path length.
