Geomagnetic pulsations excited by powerful earthquakes
Abstract
An examination of data from the magnetic observatory at Soroa, Cuba reveals the existence of chains of geomagnetic pulsations (T approximately equal to 1 min) excited by powerful earthquakes. The observed effects are interpreted in the framework of a model of a gyrotropic MHD wave propagating in the lower ionosphere.
