Theoretical results of Mach reflection from weak shock waves
Abstract
A method for correcting the inability of von Neumann theory to handle the Mach reflection of weak shocks in a flow field is presented. The method adopts the Rankine-Hugionot shock relationships from the von Neumann approach and additionally solves the flow differential equations. This suffices to handle weak shocks if frictional effects are neglected.
