Analysis of stepped septum polarisers
Abstract
A stepped septum polarizer is investigated by using mode-matching techniques to obtain the generalized scattering matrix from which the propagation characteristics are determined. The modal fields employed are derived from the solution of the ridged waveguide eigenvalue problem. The results are compared to experiments and the agreement is good.
