Self-consistent solution of a problem of diffraction by an inhomogeneity in an open waveguide
Abstract
A rigorous self-consistent approach to plane problems of natural-mode scattering in open waveguides by ideally conducting inhomogeneities is presented with reference to the development of integrated microwave devices. The approach is based on the use of the Green function of the waveguide, and involves the solution of integral or integrodifferential equations. As an example, the semiinversion method is used to solve the problem of natural-mode scattering in a plane dielectric waveguide by an open cylinder.
