A waveguide laser with a passive Q-switch of LiF:F2(-)
Abstract
The Q-factor modulation of the resonator of a Nd:glass waveguide laser is investigated by using a passive Q-switch on F2(-) color centers in LiF. It is found that the waveguide resonator has better temporal and spatial lasing characteristics than the plane resonator. Oscillograms of the lasing pulses are presented for both types of lasers.
