Delay effect in pulsed avalanche discharge of an XeCl laser at high gas pressure
Abstract
The pulsed avalanche discharge process in an XeCl laser at pressures up to 10 atm is analyzed and the effect of the delay phase on discharge formation time is discussed. By comparison with experimental results for a pulsed avalanche discharge in an XeCl laser, a critical avalanche track length of about 1 mm is derived.
