A generalization of Uzawa's algorithm for the solution of the Navier-Stokes equations
Abstract
A new method is proposed for solving the Navier-Stokes equations. The method, which combines Usava's algorithm and the Newton-Raphson scheme, converges to a divergence-free solution to nonlinear Navier-Stokes equations. The method is shown to perform better than the more standard approaches and avoids computing intermediate divergence-free iterates.
