Raman lidar measurements of atmospheric temperature profiles
Abstract
Measurements of the temperature profile in the ground atmospheric layer (up to several hundred meters) have been carried out by means of a lidar using the method of pure rotational Raman scattering of the air components. The principal characteristics of the lidar are examined, the measurement method is briefly described, and some results are presented. The lidar data are shown to be in satisfactory agreement with radiosonde temperature measurements.
