Possibility of solving convolution equations with an unknown kernel in the case of multidimensional spatially limited signals
Abstract
It is shown that the convolution equation for multidimensional digital and continuous signals can be solved at least in theory if certain equivalent sufficient conditions are satisfied. The sole necessary requirement is the spatial limitedness of the functions representing the undistorted signal and the kernel of the convolution equation. An application of the proposed approach is the reconstruction of astronomical images distorted by atmospheric turbulence.
