Estimation of the roughness and shape parameters of parabolic surfaces on the basis of their coherent images
Abstract
It is shown that the distribution of the mean intensity of the field in the image of a rough parabolic surface depends on the curvature radius of the midsurface, the mean roughness inclination, and the aperture size of the optical system forming the image. It is also demonstrated that, when the curvature radius of the midsurface is known, it is sufficient to process only a single image to obtain the mean roughness inclination. A method is proposed for determining the mean roughness inclination from the dependence of the image area on the resolving power of the optical system.
