A multichannel optoelectronic processor performing correlation function processing
Abstract
Image recognition invariant to aspect transformations has been implemented experimentally using an optoelectronic processor based on a holographic intensity correlator with averaging of the resulting light distribution. Image input and contour generation are realized by using a photoelectrooptic light modulator; real-time recording of a matrix impulse response with a random phase mask is implemented using a photothermoplastic. Additional processing of a correlation function by a microcomputer with cellular operators is used to improve the reliability of image recognition.
