The Ariane - The European family's rising cargo system
Abstract
Particularly interesting aspects of the history of the European push into space with the Ariane are discussed. The changes in the Ariane rocket over time are shown and described. The roles of different countries in constructing various Ariane components are mentioned, and the various tasks of Ariane are summarized. The goals of the future Ariane 5 are briefly examined.
