Multichannel flash x-ray tomography of microsecond events
Abstract
The design and operational characteristics of the Ballistic Research Laboratory tomography facility for the study of density profiles of rapidly moving objects are described. It is shown that time resolution in the microsecond range and spatial resolution of the order of millimeters with density resolution of the order of 1 percent are feasible even when the X-ray transmission path contains several centimeters of high atomic number materials.
