Thermodynamics of multitemperature fluids with applications to turbulence modelling
Abstract
The thermodynamics of a fluid with several distinct temperatures is considered. The balance laws are studied and a set of linear constitutive equations is derived; equations of motion are obtained and discussed. The application of the developed theory to turbulence modeling is studied and results are shown to be consistent with the oneequation models of turbulence. The thermodynamics of turbulence is also briefly discussed.
