Thermodynamics of multitemperature fluids with applications to turbulence modelling
Abstract
The thermodynamics of a fluid with several distinct temperatures is considered. The balance laws are studied and a set of linear constitutive equations is derived; equations of motion are obtained and discussed. The application of the developed theory to turbulence modeling is studied and results are shown to be consistent with the one-equation models of turbulence. The thermodynamics of turbulence is also briefly discussed.
