The application of computer aided engineering to the design and development of the UNISAT TV antenna
Abstract
The requirements on the performance, the spatial constraints on the design, and the operational characteristics of the UNISAT TV antenna are outlined with respect to the procedures employed for its electrical design, mechanical design and configuration, manufacture and mechanical testing, and electrical testing. The process of realization is noted to be dominated by the computer-aided engineering techniques throughout all of its stages through both the use of software tools for design and analysis and the computer-controlled manufacturing and testing equipment. As a result, a considerable increase in efficiency is observed. Block diagrams and schematics of the antenna are included.
