Improvement of mechanical model in entrainment method for compressible turbulent boundary layer
Abstract
In the present paper, a new improved entrainment method is proposed for conducting calculations regarding compressible turbulent boundary layers. The considered computational method takes into account the effect of the nonequilibrium turbulent boundary layer on the determination of the entrainment coefficient. A 'lag-pressure gradient parameter' is introduced into the calculation concerned with the flow field. The discussed method is evaluated with the aid of six numerical examples. The computational results show good agreement with experimental data. The method is also extended to three-dimensional cases.
