Photometric solutions for seven close binaries of intermediate spectral types : BL And, ST Aqr, DO Cas, TT Her, TZ Lyr, SW Lyn and RU UMi.
Abstract
Light curves of seven close binaries of intermediate spectral types were analyzed with the Wilson-Devinney method. The problem of uniqueness of solutions obtained with the aid of the light curve synthesis technique is discussed. It is demonstrated that the obtained parameters and configurations are sensitive to the choice of the gravity darkening coefficient. Moreover, in some cases this coefficient is hardly determinable. In the case of BL And and DO Cas the configuration is most probably contact. The configuration of the remaining systems is semidetached or marginally detached. The secondary components of all analyzed systems seem to be oversized as compared with their masses. The evolutionary status of the analyzed systems is briefly discussed.
