Unsteady nonsimilar laminar incompressible boundary-layer flow over a yawed infinite circular cylinder
Abstract
Unsteady incompressible nonsimilar flow over a yawed infinite circular cylinder when the free stream velocity varies arbitrarily with time is studied. The governing partial differential equations with three independent variables are solved numerically using an implicit finite difference scheme in combination with the quasi-linearization technique. It is concluded that both skin friction and heat transfer show a strong dependence on the free stream velocity distribution. The yaw angle affects both the skin friction and heat transfer, while the viscous dissipation and Prandtl number affect only the heat transfer.
