Hypernuclear studies and nuclear physics
Abstract
An experimentalist's summary is presented of some recent results in hypernuclear physics and possible future experiments. In addition to the traditional lower momentum (≤1 GeV/c) experiments, interesting possibilities for hypernuclear studies using a 1-2 GeV/c beam are emphasized. An attempt is made to explore topics in hypernuclear physics where quark/gluon degrees of freedom might become relevant, in contrast to the more conventional picture of baryons interacting through meson exchange.
