Intermittency and relative diffusion in fully-developed turbulence
Abstract
A theory of fully-developed turbulence is developed to determine the intermittency exponent and the diffusion exponent of the relative diffusion explicitly for various normal cascades. The basic assumption used is the self-similarity of normal cascades which ensures power laws in length and time scale. The results are summarized and are shown to be in good agreement with experiments available.
