Analysis of a 0.5 micron spaceborne wind sensor
Abstract
A theoretical model of a Doppler lidar with incoherent Fabry-Perot detection is presented. This analysis is followed by a development of the technique used for system optimization. Several near optimum systems are then discussed and evaluated to illustrate the variations which can be developed from an engineering point of view. The study is concluded with an assessment of this system in meeting meteorological requirements concerning wind measurements.
