Experiences with High Precision Groundbased Photometry of the Sun
Abstract
A new method is presented to measure the integrated light of the solar disk. Systematic errors are significantly reduced. The photometric system is highly stable. The method is convenient to study solar intensity fluctuations with small amplitudes. First measurements of the solar intensity in the spectral region B show variations with significant maxima near periods of 5 minutes. The contribution of pressure variations of the earth's atmosphere is studied.
