Relationships between Ariane trajectories and satellite orbits
Abstract
The use of the Ariane launch vehicle to put satellites into geostationary orbit; orbital accuracy attainable with Ariane; and satellite pointing accuracy at launcher-payload separation are discussed. Orbit analysis using information transmitted by the launch vehicle and ground-based radar tracking is summarized. The first acquisition of the satellite after separation is described.
