Wind tunnel experiments for the rectangular cylinders arranged on the ground plate
Abstract
Wind tunnel experiments are carried out for two rectangular cylinders in tandem or abreast on the ground plate, where three kinds of cylinders with different heights are used to investigate the influence of the boundary layer on the aerodynamical characteristics. The pressure distributions on the surfaces of the cylinder are measured, and the drag and side force acting on the cylinder are obtained by integrating the pressures on the relevant surfaces. Also, the flow around the cylinders is visualized by using the smoke wire.
